Mexico closes money laundering case against businessman Jack Landsmanas
Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR) has definitively closed its money laundering investigation into businessman Jack Landsmanas, shelving a case that once involved allegations of hundreds of millions of dollars. The probe, initiated in 2019 by the Financial Intelligence Unit, examined transactions totaling 38.9 billion pesos, $392 million, and 108,000 euros linked to his firms. The FGR confirmed the case never reached a judge and was closed without criminal charges. Landsmanas' companies, including Productos Serel, have supplied food to three federal administrations. Under President Claudia Sheinbaum's government, they have secured contracts exceeding 4 billion pesos, despite past scrutiny over dealings with Venezuela's regime.
