Mexican athlete Raúl “Tyzon” Flores became the world’s strongest man by lifting 511 kilograms at the World Deadlift Championships 2026 in Birmingham, England, setting a new world record. Flores, from Tamaulipas, broke the previous record of 510 kilograms set by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in 2025. During warm-ups, he lifted 480 kilograms and performed three reps with 470 kilograms, signaling his readiness. Last year, Flores recorded 453.5 kilograms at the same event. His year of preparation added significant weight to the bar, cementing his status among elite strongman athletes and highlighting Mexico’s growing presence in powerlifting.
