Meta's Threads app reaches 275 million monthly users, says Zuckerberg

Meta's Threads app has reached nearly 275 million monthly users, a significant increase from 100 million a year ago. The app is now gaining over 1 million new users daily, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Despite this growth, Threads still trails behind Elon Musk's X app, which has an estimated 550 million monthly users. X's U.S. user base has declined by 23% since Musk's acquisition in October 2022. Meta's overall daily active users across all platforms grew 5% year-over-year to 3.29 billion, falling short of analyst expectations. Meta's CFO noted that while Threads is growing, it is not expected to significantly contribute to revenue in 2025.
