Meta smart glasses will support third-party apps next year

3dnews.ru (Russian)

Meta will allow third-party app developers to access cameras and audio functions on its smart glasses. This will be enabled through a new Wearable Device Access Toolkit. The toolkit will grant developers access to device sensors, enabling them to create mobile applications that leverage contactless control and the glasses' AI features. Early applications include Twitch live streaming and Disney park guides. While a preliminary version of the toolkit is expected this year, public-facing applications are not anticipated until 2026. Developers can join a waitlist for early access.
