Met Council considers West Seventh Street bus rapid transit and service expansion

The Metropolitan Council will consider a new bus rapid transit line, the Metro J Line, along West Seventh Street in St. Paul. The J Line would extend south to the Mall of America and is a successor to the canceled Riverview Corridor project. Another proposed line, the Metro K Line, would run along Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis. Both lines are projected to launch between 2030 and 2035. Metro Transit is also expanding services as part of its "Network Now" vision, aiming for a 35% service increase by late 2027.
