Menon and Meir complete spacewalk to prep International Space Station for solar arrays

NASA astronauts Anil Menon and Jessica Meir completed a 6.5-hour spacewalk Friday to install hardware enabling future solar arrays on the International Space Station. The six-hour, 27-minute spacewalk was the 281st in station support and the first for Menon, sixth for Meir. It involved installing mounting hardware on the 3B power channel, enabling future IROSA roll-out solar arrays. Six have been deployed; two await delivery. This was the first of three Expedition 75 spacewalks this month. On August 13 astronauts will replace a Space-to-Ground antenna, and on August 25 they will connect power cables and replace a docking navigational aid.
