Mendoza Governor Backs Milei Reforms, Proposes Cross-Party Alliance
Mendoza Governor Alfredo Cornejo defended the continuity of President Javier Milei's economic reforms, urging that structural changes not be abandoned and proposing a cross-party alliance of governors to guarantee their permanence. Cornejo, who accompanied Milei to Paris to promote investment, acknowledged the reforms impose costs, particularly on small and medium enterprises (pymes), and affect political and social mood, but argued they are necessary to correct prior economic problems. He suggested an electoral alliance with Milei and 10 to 12 governors from different parties, including figures like Frigerio and Nacho Torres, to consolidate the reform path and prevent measures like the RIGI from being reversed.
