Mega Image and Profi merge in Romania, keeping brands separate

Mega Image and Profi will merge into a single legal entity on March 31, 2026, but will retain their distinct brands and customer operations. This merger aims to create a stronger, more efficient organization by combining expertise and commitment to local communities, while continuing to support local producers and offer competitive prices. The combined entity will operate over 2,700 stores across Romania, employing 40,000 people. The merger was approved by the Competition Council with conditions, including the divestment of 87 stores.
