Meal voucher value increases to 45 lei daily starting January 1, 2026

Starting January 1, 2026, the maximum daily value for meal vouchers increases to 45 lei. This new cap applies to November 2025 rights and remains valid through the first half of 2026 and for July, August, and September of the second half. This increase from the previous 40.18 lei limit is a maximum, with actual values determined by individual employers based on their budgets and policies. Meal vouchers are granted for each day worked, regardless of hours, and are not contingent on physical presence at the office. Meal vouchers are an optional benefit, not a mandatory right. Special provisions exist for blood donors, who receive 280 lei in meal vouchers per donation, along with a day off and tax-exempt investment opportunities.
