Mbo graduates with non-European backgrounds face challenges finding jobs and internships

Mbo graduates with a non-European background are less likely to find employment and internships compared to their peers. A year after graduating in the 2021/2022 academic year, 82% of non-European background mbo graduates had jobs, versus 92% of all graduates. Second-generation Dutch individuals also face challenges. These graduates also report applying for internships more frequently, with those of non-European background applying more than twice as often as those of Dutch background.
