Maymay and southwest monsoon rains affect 3,640 families in Rizal, Cavite, Batangas

Heavy rains from Tropical Depression Maymay and the enhanced southwest monsoon have affected 3,640 families in Rizal, Cavite, and Batangas, according to the DSWD. The DSWD Calabarzon reported 50 barangays affected, with over 400 families staying in 27 LGU-run evacuation centers. Maymay had dissipated into a low-pressure area, but the southwest monsoon continued bringing rains over parts of Luzon. The DSWD has prepositioned 227,216 food packs and other relief items, with P3 million in standby funds. Quick response teams have been on standby since Aug. 5.
