Maven Robotics raises $100M to challenge robot deployment rivals

Maven Robotics emerged from stealth today with a $100 million Series A and active deployments, aiming to disrupt the robot deployment market. The startup has already won deals against established competitors. Founded in 2024 by CEO Hamza Derbas and his brother Khalid, the company secured the funding from RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures, and XTX Markets Ventures. Their wheeled robots, capable of moving 10 miles per hour and lifting 30 kilograms, perform mixed palletizing tasks with 99% uptime across eight units working 16-hour days. The company plans to build 250 third-generation robots and design a fourth-generation platform. Derbas, a former Apple special projects group veteran, emphasizes a task-by-task approach to general-purpose robotics, targeting industrial workflows over research culture. The firm distinguishes itself from competitors like Agility, which uses bipedal robots that Derbas calls impractical for current operations.
