Matt Porter choked his dog to stop 70 bites

A man named Matt Porter was severely injured in a 45-minute dog attack by his rescue dog, Karma. He was bitten over 70 times and lost the use of one hand, forcing him to choke the dog to stop the attack. Porter underwent three reconstructive surgeries and spent a week in the hospital. He has since lost his job as a tree surgeon and is struggling with daily tasks due to his injuries. Porter adopted Karma four months prior to the attack, after she was found malnourished. He noted some signs of aggression but did not anticipate the violent incident. He has since cremated Karma and keeps her ashes at home.
