Lanter spent three days in the hospital before doctors discovered he had a small intestinal blockage. He explained that the blockage was caused by scar tissue squeezing his intestine, preventing normal digestion. Fortunately, the surgery to fix the issue went well, and he was able to recover. Lanter noted that he was lucky to have the surgery when he did. He could have been in serious danger if he had waited longer.
