A Maryland man, James Fitzsimmons, 36, faces second-degree murder charges for allegedly pushing James Britt, 37, into Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on Sunday, leading to Britt’s death. Police say surveillance video shows the two men fighting in an alley before Britt retreated toward the water, where Fitzsimmons caught up and pushed him in. Fitzsimmons claimed Britt jumped, and reportedly said “Oh well” when told Britt couldn’t swim. Fitzsimmons is also charged with manslaughter and assault, with a court date set for Aug. 27. Rescue divers recovered Britt, who was pronounced dead at a hospital.
