Martin Lewis urges UK residents to check State Pension forecasts to avoid missing £221 weekly
Personal finance expert Martin Lewis is advising people in the UK to check their State Pension forecasts. Many may be missing out on up to £221 per week due to gaps in their National Insurance contributions. Since April, individuals have spent £35 million to fill these gaps, with a deadline approaching on April 5, 2025. After this date, only the last six tax years will be eligible for voluntary contributions. Over 37,000 people have already enhanced their pensions by adding more than 68,000 years of contributions. HM Revenue and Customs encourages everyone to use the online tools available to check their National Insurance records and ensure they are maximizing their State Pension benefits.
