He noted that he has been busy with his Netflix series, "Virgin River." Henderson's character was introduced as a love interest for Meredith Grey but had a brief run before exiting in 2017. He mentioned that he felt Nathan was not well-defined during his time on the show. "Grey's Anatomy" is currently in its 21st season, and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, has a history of bringing back former cast members. Henderson remains connected to Rhimes through his work on "Virgin River."
