Marine sciences professor Robert Bruce Whitlatch dies at 76

Robert Bruce Whitlatch, a respected marine sciences professor, passed away on November 16, 2024, at age 76. He was born on July 18, 1948, in Boise, Idaho, and dedicated over 40 years to marine biology at the University of Connecticut. After retiring to Hobe Sound, Florida, in 2015, Bob continued to engage with his community and enjoyed hobbies like golfing and gardening. He was known for his work on benthic ecology and served on various editorial boards and review panels. Bob is survived by his wife, Ann, their daughters, and other family members. His contributions to science and his dedication to family and friends will be remembered. Donations in his memory can be made to the UConn Department of Marine Sciences.
