President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspected the renovated Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Thursday to assess its readiness for the 49th ASEAN Summit, scheduled from November 10 to 15. The PICC, designed by National Artist Leandro Locsin, underwent a six-month renovation in 2025, including marble tile repairs, ceiling repainting, concrete wall cleaning, and restoration of 1976-era furniture. New features include infinity waterfalls, modern lighting, and a 30-speaker audio system. The venue's lawn was restored to its original 1976 design with 3,068 droplights. The historic Coconut Palace was also revitalized for the summit and will reopen to the public in 2027.
