President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inaugurated the first phase of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite Extension in Parañaque City on November 15, 2024. This phase includes five new stations designed with accessibility features. The new stations are Redemptorist-Aseana, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos. The extension aims to cut travel time from Quezon City to Parañaque to under an hour. Future phases will add about 6 kilometers to the line, including two more stations in Las Piñas and one in Bacoor, Cavite. The completed project is expected to serve 300,000 additional passengers daily.
