Marcos excludes sister Imee from campaign event mentions

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. did not mention his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, during a campaign rally in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. This follows a similar omission the day before in Cavite. The President spoke at the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas event but referred only to the group of candidates as “11” instead of including Imee, who was absent for the third straight rally. In his speech, President Marcos encouraged unity among the candidates running for Senate. He expressed the importance of the alliance for improving the lives of Filipinos. Previously, he had mentioned other absent candidates in his speeches, making this double omission notable. Senator Imee Marcos has not participated in recent rallies, including events in Tacloban and Trece Martires City. She has been critical of some of the administration's actions, recently leading a Senate inquiry into the legality of the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is her father.
