Manoj Jarange accuses Shinde of betraying Marathas over Kunbi certificates in Marathwada
On Thursday, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange accused Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of betraying the community over cancelled Kunbi certificates, his first direct attack in three years. Certificates of four elected representatives from Beed, Parbhani and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar were invalidated. Jarange accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Bawankule of conspiring, demanded a narco test, and urged Marathas not to contest elections without valid certificates. Fadnavis and Bawankule rejected the allegations, saying scrutiny committees act independently under Supreme Court guidelines. They noted rejection rates commonly range from 10 to 25 percent, and applicants can appeal.
