Manjeri fire station construction to resume with Rs 1.17 crore approval

mathrubhumi.com (Malayalam) —

Construction of the Manjeri Fire and Rescue Station will resume soon after administrative approval of Rs 1.17 crore was granted to complete the stalled building work, according to MLA M. Rahmathulla. The approval covers remaining tasks including a well, a one-lakh-litre water tank, compound wall, septic tank, and electrification. The first phase cost Rs 2.75 crore and built the ground and first floors with garages, offices, dormitories, and other facilities. The fire station has operated from a temporary room at the Kacheripadi bus stand since 2016 due to fund shortages. The new building is being constructed on 50 cents of land at Karuvambram provided by the technical education department.
