Manipur startup offers jobs to displaced individuals through potato chips production
Three displaced individuals from Manipur, Pritam, Bidya, and Sanjoy, have found work at Yenning, a potato chips startup. Founded by Sanjita Lisham, the company aims to provide employment and dignity to those affected by ongoing ethnic violence. Yenning started amid economic disruption in Manipur, facing challenges in sourcing ingredients and production. Despite setbacks, Lisham secured funding from family and refined the production process, creating a hygienic and competitive product. The new jobs have given hope to the displaced workers. They express gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the respect and community they have found at Yenning, which has helped them rebuild their lives.
