Manila tops list of world's most densely populated cities
Manila is now recognized as the most densely populated city in the world, with 119,600 people per square mile. This marks a significant distinction from previous rankings, highlighting the city's high density despite a total population of 1.8 million. Other densely populated cities include Pateros, with 94,400 people per square mile, and Mandaluyong, at 90,460. Baghdad follows with 85,140 people per square mile, while Mumbai and Dhaka have densities of 83,660 and 75,290, respectively. Caloocan and Port-au-Prince also feature high densities, at 72,490 and 70,950 people per square mile. These figures reflect a growing trend of urbanization, with over half of the global population now living in cities.
