Man sentenced to 19 years after fleeing traffic stop and hitting police car in Charlottesville
Alexzander Turner Jr., 21, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after fleeing a traffic stop in Charlottesville last summer. He struck a police car and dropped illegal ammunition during the incident. Turner pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including eluding police and possessing ammunition as a convicted felon. A portion of his sentence was suspended, and he has been placed on supervised probation for two years. During the traffic stop on July 2, 2024, Turner ran a red light and drove aggressively, leading to a police chase. Authorities found an AK-47-style weapon and ammunition in his car after his capture.
