Man killed by train in Ancient Corinth; Hellenic Train reports delays

A man was struck and killed by a suburban train in Ancient Corinth early Thursday morning, causing service disruptions on the Kiato-Piraeus line. The Hellenic Fire Service recovered his body. The incident occurred around 05:40 on the route toward Zevgolatio. The train driver activated the emergency brakes and sounded warnings, but could not avoid hitting the man, who was on the tracks. Six firefighters with two vehicles responded, and the victim was handed over to an EKAB ambulance. Train traffic was halted in both directions until 06:51. Hellenic Train expressed regret and is cooperating with authorities to investigate the cause, warning passengers of delays and possible schedule changes on the Piraeus-Kiato line.
