Man escapes from prison van on M55 highway

A 33-year-old man named Jamie Cooper has been charged with escaping from a prison van. The incident happened while the van was on its way to court. Cooper allegedly fled from the vehicle on the M55 highway as it was headed to Lancaster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Following his escape, he was arrested in a nearby town on Saturday. Lancashire Police reported that they received a call about the escape near junction two of the M55 at around 8:55 AM GMT on Wednesday. Cooper has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Monday.
