Man arrested for raping minor girl in Kollam under Pocso Act

A 26-year-old man named Haarish was arrested in Kollam for raping a minor girl under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The abuse lasted for two years, during which he falsely promised to marry her. The girl, now 18, discovered Haarish's drug addiction and past legal issues. When she tried to end the relationship, he threatened to share her nude photos online and harm her mother, who is mentally ill. Haarish was taken to court and has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. The girl met him at a marriage function, and they began a relationship through phone contact.
