Man arrested for driving 100 mph in Madison

A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly driving 100 mph in a 45 mph zone in Madison. Troopers observed the speeding vehicle during a traffic enforcement operation on Durham Road around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Derek Nowak, was also accused of not wearing a seatbelt. He was arrested and taken to Troop F for processing. Nowak faces charges of reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is set to appear in New Haven Superior Court on March 28.
