Man accused of killing Kerdasa cafe worker faces trial August 8

An Egyptian worker accused of fatally stabbing a cafe worker over a financial dispute in Kerdasa has been referred to criminal trial, with the first hearing set for August 8. The victim, who was not party to the debt, had tried mediating a 1,500 Egyptian pound dispute between the defendant and another man. Days later, the defendant demanded the victim pay the amount, sparking a confrontation. After an exchange of insults, the defendant left but returned with accomplices, attacking the victim in the street and stabbing him below the heart. Police arrested the defendant following the fatal attack.
