Malaysian groups aid Nepal flood relief after deadly glacial collapse

Malaysian humanitarian groups are coordinating with Nepalese authorities to deliver relief to communities affected by devastating floods that struck the Nepal-China border on Aug 26. United Sikhs Malaysia is mobilizing support, providing Shelter, Hygiene and Nutrition Packs to affected families and appealing for donations, with RM500 supporting one family. Mercy Malaysia confirmed a volunteer team arrived in Kathmandu yesterday. The floods, triggered by a glacial collapse generating energy equivalent to a 5.2-magnitude earthquake, have killed over 1,000 people, with more than 4,400 unaccounted for. Fifty-five Malaysians remain missing, and rescue efforts are hampered by damaged infrastructure.
