Malaysia arrests 123 undocumented workers, six managers in Johor Baru raids

Malaysian authorities arrested 123 undocumented foreign workers and six Malaysians during two-day raids in Johor Baru targeting businesses employing migrants without valid permits. The operations on Sept 1-2 inspected 21 premises including eateries, workshops, laundries and reflexology centres. Detainees included nationals from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nepal, China and Vietnam, aged 20-50. The six Malaysians held were managers at inspected premises. All face charges under immigration regulations and acts, with foreigners held at Setia Tropika Immigration Depot and 13 witness notices issued for investigation.
