MakeMyTrip launches AI-driven hotel recommendation feature
MakeMyTrip has launched a new feature called 'Collections' that uses artificial intelligence to help users find hotels and homestays that meet their personalized needs. This feature is now available in over 30 popular destinations. The 'Collections' feature aims to simplify the process of choosing accommodations from a large database of 86,000 options across more than 2,000 cities. It organizes places to stay into curated themes based on insights from travellers, enhancing the search experience. According to Abhishek Logani, the Chief Business Officer for Hotels at MakeMyTrip, the company plans to expand this feature to even more cities. The goal is to ensure that travelers receive accommodation options tailored to their specific preferences. The technology behind 'Collections' analyses past search history, booking patterns, and customer reviews. This way, it can provide suggestions that align with both the location and the traveller's interests. For instance, luxury travelers will see recommendations for high-end hotels, while budget-conscious travelers will receive options that fit their financial plans. Ankit Khanna, the Chief Product Officer, highlighted that 'Collections' improves upon traditional search filters. Instead of having to manually refine options, users can enjoy a more intuitive discovery process. Additionally, the feature learns from user interactions, getting smarter and more accurate with each search.
