Maharashtra cabinet approves Rs315 crore for Temghar dam repairs

The Maharashtra state cabinet has approved Rs315.05 crore for repairs to the Temghar dam, two years after the initial proposal. This funding will address leakages and strengthen the dam's wall, which is crucial for water supply in Pune. The irrigation department plans to start repairs once they receive clarification on fund release. Currently, the dam's water level has been reduced to 16% of its capacity to facilitate the work. Previously, 90% of the leakages were fixed in an earlier phase, but the remaining repairs were delayed due to funding issues. The dam is vital for both the city’s water supply and local agriculture.
