A magnitude 6.1 earthquake with a maximum intensity of 5+ struck southern Tokachi, Hokkaido. No tsunami is expected. The earthquake caused partial closures on the Doto and Hidaka expressways. JR Hokkaido announced service suspensions on parts of the Hidaka and Nemuro lines, and disruptions are expected for the Rapid Airport service. No abnormalities were found at the Tomari nuclear power plant. Hokkaido Airport reported no impact on runways or flight operations.
