Malaysia’s anti-graft agency has begun prosecuting fraud cases over PERKESO’s Daya Kerjaya 2.0 incentives, with at least 100 people expected to be charged over RM45m losses. On Wednesday and Thursday, 29 suspects were charged in Pahang, Perak, Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah. Those facing prosecution include company owners and individuals suspected of abusing the programme, with more charges expected throughout August. Syndicates used personal data of victims, including disabled people, parolees and seniors, without consent. Some workers received only one-off payments of RM50 to RM2,400 despite full claims. Earlier, 1,638 companies were under investigation.
