Lyubov Kolesnikova, who played Baba Palashka in "Catch Kaidash," dies

Actress Lyubov Kolesnikova, known for her role as Baba Palashka in "Catch Kaidash," has died. Kolesnikova was an Honored Artist of Ukraine and dedicated over 45 years to the Chernihiv Drama Theater, playing more than 100 roles. Her portrayal of Baba Palashka brought her widespread recognition. Earlier in 2026, it was reported that Kolesnikova was in poor health and needed urgent eye surgery. A farewell ceremony is scheduled for May 8.
