Lynx hire Lindsay Whalen and Eric Thibault to coaching staff

The Minnesota Lynx have added Lindsay Whalen and Eric Thibault to their coaching staff. Whalen, a Lynx legend and Hall of Famer, returns to coaching after leading the team to four championships. Thibault, a former Mystics coach, will serve as associate head coach. Whalen expressed excitement about rejoining the Lynx and working with coach Cheryl Reeve and Rebekkah Brunson. Thibault, who was let go by the Mystics last month, looks forward to contributing to the Lynx's winning culture. The Lynx reached the WNBA Finals last season but lost to the New York Liberty. This coaching change follows the departure of former associate head coach Katie Smith, who took a position at Ohio State.
