Luxon mixes up Warriors with Waratahs at Pacific Islands Forum

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon made an embarrassing slip of the tongue at the Pacific Islands Forum leaders meeting, mixing up the Warriors with another team. The gaffe occurred during his remarks at the regional summit. Luxon, who described himself as a "big Wahs fan," praised the Warriors' coach Andrew Webster and chief executive Cam George for rebuilding the team's culture. He also highlighted rugby league's growth across the Pacific, including in Samoa, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea. This is not Luxon's first sport-related mistake, having previously claimed to support the Crusaders since childhood, despite the team not existing until 1996. The Warriors are preparing for their third NRL finals appearance in four years.
