Lung cancer patients and caregivers in Europe face communication barriers, LuCE study finds

A LuCE study revealed significant communication barriers between lung cancer patients and caregivers in Europe, impacting information access and shared decision-making. The survey of over 2,000 participants highlighted issues like delayed care, lack of biomarker awareness, and poor understanding of prognosis and treatment information. Complex medical language was a major obstacle. The findings emphasize the need for improved healthcare communication to ensure person-centered care and empower patients and caregivers in decision-making processes.
