Luna clarifies Trump's offer on private jet incident

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican from Florida, addressed a recent claim in a book about President Donald Trump. The book, written by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt, states that Trump offered Luna his bed on his private jet during a trip in 2023. Luna, who supports Trump and is married, took to social media to clarify the context of the offer. Luna explained that she was pregnant and experiencing health issues when Trump made the offer. She stated that she was suffering from undiagnosed pre-eclampsia symptoms at the time. In her post, she emphasized that Trump offered the back room of his plane respectfully and in front of her husband. She felt it was necessary to respond due to the book's implications. Luna shared a note from Trump that inquired about her baby’s well-being, stating, "The plane was ready," and expressing hope for the child to be a "winner like parents." She praised Trump for being sensitive and compassionate, stating that both she and her husband felt respected by him. Luna criticized Isenstadt for not reaching out to her before publishing the claim. She urged others in Trump's network to boycott the reporter over what she called a "baseless hit piece." Isenstadt has yet to respond to her comments. The book was released on Tuesday.
