Lula nominates Berwanger to fill vacant CVM director seat

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sent the Senate the nomination of Antonio Carlos Berwanger for a director position at the securities regulator CVM on Tuesday. Berwanger would fill the sole vacant seat left by Otto Lobo, who currently chairs the agency, pending Senate confirmation through a hearing. A CVM employee since 2005, Berwanger has held roles in inspection and sanctions, and currently leads market development. He holds economics and law degrees and a master's in regulation law.
