Loro Parque says Spain has not refused orca transfer as administrative hurdles cleared

Spain has not officially refused the transfer of two orcas from Marineland to Loro Parque, according to the Spanish park's scientific director. Administrative conditions are now met for the transfer, and a previous administrative error regarding one orca's classification has been corrected, allowing for EU transfer without specific Spanish CITES permits. Loro Parque states it has the facilities and experienced staff to house the orcas, and that modern zoos contribute to research, conservation, and education.
