London Health Sciences Centre faces police investigation over financial practices
The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is under a police investigation for potential fraud related to its financial practices. The investigation follows significant leadership changes, including the resignation of the entire Board of Directors and the termination of over 100 staff members amid a $150 million deficit. David Musyj, CEO of Windsor Regional Hospital, has been appointed as a supervisor to restore financial accountability at LHSC. This comes after previous CEO Jackie Schliefer Taylor left amid scrutiny over $470,000 spent on executive travel. LHSC officials acknowledged the investigation but did not provide further details. The hospital, which has over 1,500 employees and a $1.5 billion budget, is facing pressure to improve its financial stability and service delivery.
