Loeb's Rallye du Maroc ends in crash, Toyota takes championship lead

lequipe.fr (French) —

Sébastien Loeb crashed in the final kilometer of the Rallye du Maroc's last stage, losing the win and handing the World Championship lead to Toyota's Seth Quintero. Loeb was set to win the stage to minimize damage, but a broken steering rod, caused by hitting a rock after dust from Marek Goczal, ended his run. He finished the rally frustrated after also suffering two electrical issues earlier in the week. Quintero now leads the championship by 13 points over Loeb, with Nasser al-Attiyah six points further back. The title fight moves to Abu Dhabi in late November.
