Lewis Hamilton explains name change to honor mother and challenge traditions
Lewis Hamilton recently turned 40 and is set to start a new chapter with Ferrari in 2025. He previously announced plans to change his name to include his mother's surname, Larbalestier, to honor her and challenge traditional naming conventions. Hamilton aims for an eighth Formula One championship after a challenging period with Mercedes. He finished seventh in his last season with the team but is optimistic following Ferrari's strong performance in the latter part of 2024. Hamilton will visit Ferrari's headquarters in Italy this month before the new season launch on February 18. Pre-season testing will begin shortly after, allowing him and teammate Charles Leclerc time to adapt to the new car.
