Lego Unveils First 'Batman Returns' Batmobile Set With 2,269 Pieces
Lego has released its first-ever Batmobile set based on the 1992 film Batman Returns, featuring a 2,269-piece design. The set costs $229.99 and becomes available to all customers on September 4, following early access for Lego Insiders on September 1. The 18-and-up set measures over 17 inches long and includes a button-activated transformation revealing the Batmissile escape vehicle. It also features six hidden Easter eggs, including The Penguin's tracking device, and comes with an exclusive Batman minifigure with a newly molded cowl and cape. The release celebrates the 20th anniversary of Lego Batman, which began in 2006 with seven sets. Previous Batmobile models include the 1989 version and the Classic TV Series car, both now retired and resold at premium prices online.
