Lebanon’s children bear the heaviest toll from overlapping crises

Children in Lebanon are suffering severe consequences from the country's overlapping crises, with aid agencies reporting rising casualties, mass displacement, and deep psychological trauma among the youth. Over 770,000 children face heightened distress from repeated violence and instability. Many families remain unable to return home due to unexploded ordnance, and thousands have been uprooted since March. Widespread destruction has damaged homes, schools, and essential services like water and sanitation systems. Lebanon is experiencing one of its worst economic collapses, with the lira losing over 98% of its value and 80% of the population living in poverty. UNIFIL recorded 125 Israeli air violations despite a ceasefire, while authorities report over 4,300 deaths since March.
