The Le Mans 24 Hours will change its qualifying format in 2025, as announced by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. The top Hypercar class will now qualify separately from the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories in two 30-minute sessions. Previously, all cars qualified together in a one-hour session. The new format will allow the fastest 15 Hypercars and the fastest 12 from LMP2 and LMGT3 to advance to the Hyperpole shootout, which will also have separate sessions for each class. Additionally, Mercedes will return to Le Mans for the first time since 1999, entering two Mercedes-AMG GT3s. Aston Martin will also compete in the top class with its Valkyrie AMR-LMH, marking its return since 2011.
